Festival to screen domestic and foreign documentary films in Guangzhou and Shenzhen

For fans of documentary and films, don't miss out on the upcoming screening event. From January 8 to January 16, 2022, the 8th Golden Kapok Film Festival of the Guangzhou International Documentary Film Festival will be held in both Guangzhou and Shenzhen, screening about 30 outstanding domestic and foreign documentary films.

Tickets for the festival are available exclusively on taopiaopiao.com, one of the country's largest ticketing platforms, starting from noon on January 4, 2022.

In Guangzhou, you can watch the documentary films at the Palace Cinema in both Liede igc and Par Central, Cinema Zhongdu in Poly Plaza Clover, DOC. Park and Guangzhou Book Center.

In Shenzhen, Broadway Cinema in the MixC and Emperor Cinemas in the Ping An International Finance Center are your destinations.

An overnight documentary marathon will be held at the Cinema Zhongdu in Poly Plaza Clover, Guangzhou, featuring 10 documentary films.

In addition, a number of films from across the world will have their world, Asian or Chinese premieres in Guangzhou during the festival. You will be able to watch the premieres of 21 films, three films in IMAX format, and one animated documentary film.

Some of the must-watch films include Silence of the Tides directed by Pieter-Rim de Kroon, The Rescue—a National Geographic documentary from the Oscar-winning "Free Solo" duo of Elizabeth Chai Vasarhelyi and Jimmy Chin, Satoshi Kon: The Illusionist, A Glitch in the Matrix, IMAX 3D film Deep Sea, Born to Be Wild and Superpower Dogs.

Since its official inception in 2014, the Golden Kapok Film Festival has been held in over 20 cities and hundreds of universities across the country, screening several hundreds of excellent documentary films from both China and abroad for hundreds of thousands of audiences.
